Now...on to the silly personal stuff: What can I say about myself?! Probably more than you really want to know! I guess I'll start with the usual things. My name is Kaichi Satake, but I sometimes go by my rock-star name, Kai Starr (see my rock-star photo, below! ;P ). I was born in 1964, a fat baby in a Dragon year--which is supposedly doubly lucky. (Where is all this luck?!) I've done a lot of different (and sometimes crazy) things, including improv comedy/acting, singing in a rock band, writing skits and dialect courses for Renaissance fairs, working at a multitude of boring and tedious jobs, freelancing, streetfighting, freeway racing, skirt chasing and learning to fly airplanes. Some of those things have had unpleasant consequences, but if I had to live it all again, I don't think I'd do anything differently. Life is one big learning experience. The more bad stuff we go through, the farther we progress as human souls. I'm hoping that all my suffering will reward me with a more pleasant life, next time around. Of course, it probably won't, but I can dream, can't I?! Enough philosophizing. Here's some more relevant personal stuff. They say we Dragons are eccentric, passionate and complex creatures, and I am proof of that. Some Things I Like (in no particular order): chocolate, Coke, writing, drawing, playing guitar, animals, lizards, reading, singing, dancing, kissing pretty girls, dreaming, playing war games, long hair, collecting aviation and WWII memorabilia, spending money, the smell of a freshly bathed baby, martial arts, American music of 1920-1950, smiles, riding rollercoasters, big libraries, swallowtail coats, flying airplanes, seafood, eating out, smart military uniforms, leisurely walks, green mountains, boating, thong bikinis (but not for guys--yuck!), Toyotas, fishing, early morning mist, meteor showers, rocks, driving Los Angeles freeways (this one says more than anything else, I think!). Some Things I Don't Like (again, no particular order): tv talk shows, hateful people, conformity for its own sake, lentils, licorice, beets, typing, extreme heat or cold, spiders, rudeness, girls who wear too much makeup or perfume, turtleneck sweaters, neckties, being broke, overcooked veggies, working at "real" jobs, the "yamamba" look, mind games, drugs or alcohol (both used to be on the other list...sigh!), cliques, insensitive people, rap/hip hop music, green Jello, smog, racists, politicians, stinky things, mall food, being put on hold, stuffy offices of any kind, overzealous evangelists who want to save my heathen soul, airline food (shudder!), people who beat me to the check at restaurants.
