SF/espionage and adventure... Genjiro Nakadai thinks he's found the perfect job, when he volunteers for the Special Forces, an elite division of the Greater Union Army of Exedra. The recruiter's promise of adventure and high pay sours, when Genjiro finds out what the job really is. By then, it's too late to back out. As he falls deeper into intrigue and danger, the likelihood of getting his own life back dwindles. Updated every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
(NOTE: This comic is not for children; it contains graphic violence, strong language and occasional nudity.)

Bad Luck and New Wallpaper

Well, as is consistent with my dreadful luck, the Funny Papers list was down all day yesterday, and apparently not counting votes at all. So, my plea for votes was totally wasted. That means I have to be a pest, and ask you guys, once again, for your clicks. We've now dropped some, on the list, thanks to that interruption, yesterday, and this is just no good. It makes us look bad! Please show your support for ShadowFall and vote! Vote at home, vote at work, vote at school, wherever you have the chance to vote, please do so! If you also vote for Elf Life, don't worry that a vote for ShadowFall could threaten EL. It won't. Vote for both of us! Carson Fire and I are longtime best friends and roommates, and what helps one of us, helps both of us! We want to see each other doing well. Help keep ShadowFall and Elf Life at the top of the list! We are the best, ne? Help us show it!

I have great confidence in you guys, and so does Gen! He's still doing the victory sign, even! Please do your part to keep him smiling!

The other thing for today is new Wallpaper!!! I'm still working on the special one, as I'm not completely happy with it, yet, but I have done one of beautiful Ilyana winking. Here's a thumbnail of it:

Isn't she lovely? \(^o^)/ I've set this one up in two versions: one with her on the right (from the viewer's point of view), and one on the left. This should cover just about any folder layout on your desktop. Feel free to take both of them! I'll do my best to have the next one ready, soon, but I'm wondering if I shouldn't do the Elf Life and Penny Arcade thing of offering the special one as a donation incentive. I haven't set it up, yet, as I haven't quite known what to offer for that, but I see some are doing it with wallpapers. This weekend, I may try to do some other special stuff to use for that, as well. I probably won't start that, in earnest, until January, though. I know how tight money is for most people, during the holiday season; it's certainly tight in our house! I've really appreciated the donations, as it's tough for me to find the money for art supplies, some months. I don't want to have to put the comic on hiatus for something as dumb as not having money for paper! Even a dollar or two is a big help. My sincerest thanks to those of you who have so generously donated, already! Doumo arigatou gozaimashita!

Oh! Oh! Oh! One last thing! To the guy who wrote to me, recently, about Steel Empire: I've tried to reply, but the emails have been returned to me as undeliverable. To answer your question, though, no, the Akagi was not based on the barges in the Genesis game. Most of the hardware in ShadowFall was designed in the late 70s and early 80s, a bit before Sega Genesis, IIRC (and before the story was actually called ShadowFall). Heh...at that time, I had an Atari 2600!!! I still have it, and it still works, as does my old SNES. I never played any Sega games, though, and really didn't even play the SNES all that much. I only had three games for it (Legend of Zelda, Carrier Aces, and an Indiana Jones game!). Now, of course, I haven't got time to play any games, at all. I miss that, too! ***sniffle*** But nothing in the comic is based on any games, video, dice-based rpg or otherwise. It all came directly from my freaky dreamworld. (^-^)

Thanks, again, everyone, for supporting ShadowFall! I could not hope for cooler readers than you! I have the best readers on the net!!! Banzai!!! \(^o^)/

(^-^)
