Lateness, End of Issue Five, a Birthday, and New IRC Channel for KickAss Webcomics Exchange!
Sigh...First, I want to apologize for the lateness of today's comic. I honestly thought I would never finish the damn thing. This was one of the most difficult pages I have ever done, and it took a full 12 hours to complete. Working on 2 hours of sleep didn't help. Anyway, I'm very very sorry for the late update. I'm really trying not to do this!
Second, today's comic marks the end of issue five! I hope you've all enjoyed the story, so far. I've got one more issue to go, in this first series, and it begins on Monday, 14 January, 2002! I'm looking forward to working on Series Two, as I'll be getting into a lot more action, and adding the rest of the ninja team characters. I think you're going to enjoy it!
Third, today is the birthday of my fellow cartoonist, Clint Hollingsworth, of The Wandering Ones! Clint's comic is also a sci-fi adventure, done in a style reminiscent of the old-time newspaper serials like Prince Valiant, and presented daily in a comic strip format. Stop by and check out his fine comic, and jump into his forum to wish him a happy birthday! Oh...and tell him I sent you! Heh heh... (~-^)
Fourth, Nightstar.Net finally got its servers working, again, so I went ahead and set up a chat channel for Henry Chiu's KickAss Webcomics Exchange, of which I'm a part. I'm not sure who on the list is using it, yet, but soon you may be able to find some of the KWE artists in the chat to talk to! You can find it at #KWE on Nighstar.Net. I've been connecting to Nightstar via DeepThought.NJ.US.Nightstar.Net, but they've recently had some trouble with abuse on port 6667, so if you go, you may have to reset the server port on your IRC client (do that through the Edit Server function of your client) to something between 6660 and 6668, 6669 or 7000. While you're on Nightstar, remember to stop by #shadowfall and chat! You never know who will be in there. Though, I'm sorry I haven't been in there, much, lately. The server problems have been a big part of that, as well as me just not having the time to spend chatting. But now that the servers are back up, one problem is solved! Now to somehow magically produce more time!! Mwahahaha!!!
Fifth, the coolness continues over at Jim Alexander's comic, Algernon's Dilemma, as he's posting the finished strips from some flight choreography sketches I did for him, early last year. He'll be posting those strips through Saturday, 12 January, so be sure to stop by his site each day and check them out! If you enjoy his strip, also be sure to send him an email to let him know! We artists thrive on feedback, so don't be shy about telling us what you like (or don't like!) about our comics.
