First RPG Story In Progress! New Banners! And I Missed Some Stuff...!!
Whee! I finally got around to making the first story post in the ShadowFall RPG forum! I have three of the worlds set up, now, as well as a Space forum, for scenes that take place onboard ships or space stations. Everyone is welcome to join in! My first story takes place about 50 years prior to the current ShadowFall storyline, and stars Genjiro's grandfather, Akira. I'm planning on ending each installment at a crucial moment, a spot that would be easy to add a new character to, so that others can join in and add to it, as they wish. This RP is supposed to work sort of like an interactive story, with some very simple rules; these are laid out in the Help and Discussion forum, which is also available for use if anyone needs to ask questions or make suggestions. It's not necessary to wait for me to make initial story posts in any of the worlds, either. Feel free to start up a new story any time you like, and the rest of us will join in, as we have ideas. Just be sure to start each new story as a separate topic within the world forum, so it's easier to keep up with. I think this is going to be a lot of fun! The more we write for it, the easier it will become to think up new and cool scenarios!
Heh...I think I missed mentioning some of the extra changes I made to the site, last week. One such change is on the ShadowFall characters page. I've added a new cast member to it, and also redone all the images of the characters, so that they're all the same size. I think the page looks nicer for it. I'll be adding major characters to it, regularly, as they appear in the comic. This page also has links to each character's first appearance in the comic.
The new Navigation page has all the dropdown menus for each issue of ShadowFall, plus menus for all the special and guest comics, all on one convenient page. In addition to the dropdown menus, each issue link is accompanied by a summary of what happens in it, and my comments on the art and writing. This page will always have the same URL, so even if I have to change around the archive pages, again, you'll still be able to find your place in the story, easily. Bookmark this page for quick reference! I would advise against bookmarking individual comics pages, as I will probably have to change the archive structure, again, when I find an automation script to use. I apologize for any confusion that may cause, but once it's all set up and working, it shouldn't change, again.
I made some new banners and buttons for the comic, recently, too! Folks have responded well to the pic of the soldier using the night vision binoculars, so I thought I'd put him on the new banner. Here's the 200 x 40 pixel version:
The border around it was added with HTML code; it doesn't appear on the actual banner. It's just there to better illustrate the banner's size. I added a bit of flesh tone to the soldier's face for the small banner, as it was too dark at this size in all blue. The large banner, 468 x 60 pixels, is all blue, but I may add an alternate one with some flesh tones in it, as well, if it looks like folks would prefer it. Finally, some of you kind readers have written to me about missing images or broken links. I appreciate this, very much! Please continue to let me know whenever you come across something that doesn't work, so I can fix it, right away. I moved over 900 files when I changed servers, so there's bound to be more mistakes that haven't been reported, yet. My online time has been severely restricted, the last few weeks, so I haven't had a chance to go through the entire site, page by page. I apologize for any errors, and hope to have them sniffed out and corrected, as soon as possible. I have a convenient email link at the top and bottom of every page on the site, so please write to me if you encounter problems of any kind while surfing my site.
