Birthday Art From Flick! New Dreams Comic! Actual Page of ShadowFall!!
Wow...I've actually got three things to add to the site, today! Wheee! \(^o^)/ And...on top of that, I won $4 on a lottery scratch-off ticket. heh...I keep having these dreams about winning the lottery, and then the very next day, I get a scratch-off ticket and win either $2 or $4. I hope that's not going to be the extent of my winnings!! I keep hinting in the dream that I need the BIG jackpot! But I guess nobody in the etherworld is paying any attention to me. (~-^)
Anyway, I have birthday art!!!! My good friend, Flick, sent me this beautiful watercolor painting for my birthday (which was 25 Sept, in case anyone missed it...hehehe), and I thought I'd share it with you guys. You can check it out in Flick's Gallery. I wish I could paint with watercolors! I have a beginner's set, but I've never had much time to play with it. Maybe I'll get around to it, someday. Many thanks and great big hugs to Flick, for this wonderful artwork! Doumo arigatou gozaimashita, Flick chan!
I've also added the second page of "Wraith" to the Dreams section. The first page had a lot of grey washes in it, so it looks kind of abstract and painterly, but this one is all black and white, no greys at all. I'm hoping to sit down with the old script, later, and do the rest of the pages. The way things are going, though, it may take me a while to do them all. When I first wrote the script, I didn't have a handle on how to write for comics, and I had laid it out with a bunch of full-page artwork where I didn't need full-page art. I had written the script to be 24 pages long, when finished, and looking at it now, I can see where I could easily have fit it into 8 or 12 pages. When writing for comics, it helps to know what you're doing. (~-^) A few years of converting the first ShadowFall novel into a comic has taught me a great deal about how comics writing should flow. I had to change quite a bit of the novel to fit into the comic book format, and for the most part, I think it turned out pretty well. The next one, though, will be even better. I'm looking forward to it!
Speaking of novels...I've been thinking for a long while that I'd like to do some of my novels as illustrated eBooks and sell them through the site. These are full-length novels, most over 300 pages long, and will have either color or black-and-white illustrations in them. I was thinking of a price somewhere around $5 for each novel, and either have them available as downloads through the site or on CDs (but these would need an extra charge for shipping materials, likely less than $2). I could also offer several books on one CD, or several in one download, for a discounted price. Is this something anyone would be interested in? I have excerpts from some of my novels on the Fiction page, so you can get a feel for how my prose style reads. I may try to set up a poll for this, or if I can't find one that I can set up quickly, I'll pose this question in the forum and edit this post to add a link to it.
That's it, for today! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
(^-^)
