SF/espionage and adventure... Genjiro Nakadai thinks he's found the perfect job, when he volunteers for the Special Forces, an elite division of the Greater Union Army of Exedra. The recruiter's promise of adventure and high pay sours, when Genjiro finds out what the job really is. By then, it's too late to back out. As he falls deeper into intrigue and danger, the likelihood of getting his own life back dwindles. Updated every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

News for 23 November, 2002
End of Issue One! But What a Terrible Week!!!!

Sigh...I never got around to setting up a poll for the eBook question, so I guess I'll do that in the forum, next week, if I can't find the time to set up a real poll, here on the main page. Sorry about that, everyone!

Speaking of next week, I may not have an update, at all, in the coming week, due to it being Thanksgiving week, here in the USA. Lots of family members will be visiting us, and mom will need help preparing for the holiday meal. I also need to spend a little time polishing up parts of the script for issue two. Today's comic ends issue one of "The Secret of Nin," and the next part is totally new. What I had in the novel couldn't be used as it was, in comics format, so I rewrote it from scratch. I want to take some time to make sure it's as good as it can be, and that it works properly with the rest of the series. This isn't the first part of the story I've hit that worked well in prose but not in comics, and I doubt it will be the last. I'm pretty fast with the writing part, when I'm left alone. The problem, here, is being left alone long enough to concentrate and get into the writing "trance." Sigh...one of these days, I'll be back in my own place, again, where I can be alone as long as I need to be!

I apologize, again, for missing the update for Friday. This last week, I've been accompanying my mom to and from the animal hospital, which is about 100 miles for the round trip. Her little dog had to have emergency surgery, to remove two tumors which were causing him great pain, and he's had to go in for frequent checkups, since then. We've also had to pay special attention to his potty and eating habits, keep him from rubbing his sutured area on the floor, and keep him medicated, on schedule. Watching that sneaky little guy is a job!! He figured out how to get his rear paw inside the plastic hood they'd put on him, to keep him from scratching the incision on his head, so he had to be carried back in for a bigger hood. Now he can't scratch it, and he looks so pitiful with his head inside this huge plastic cone! Poor little guy! Happily, though, neither tumor was malignant, but poor Patches has a Frankenstein-monster-style, stapled incision on his head, and another long row of regular sutures on his abdomen. He's recovering well, and he sure knows how to get sympathy. He has big sad puppy eyes, to start with (he's a white English Springer Spaniel with brown "patches" on his coat), but with everything else, it's impossible not to baby him. Oh well. I love to pet him, anyway.

I was also at my sister's home, Friday, and she has four cats in the house. The minute I sat down on her sofa, I was covered in cats! Then when the kids got home from school, I was also covered in kids. hehehe My sister always gets mad at me, because her two most skittish cats (who don't seem to like anyone else) will instantly get into my lap, curl up into furry purrballs, and stay there until I put them out of my lap to leave. I'm always tempted to steal one of her cats, every time I'm there, but I'd never be able to choose one. I love them all! I guess I'll have to get another cat of my own, someday, when I have my own home, again.

(^-^)
